What bus routes come by the Museum?
Capital Metro bus routes #2, #10, #12, #15, #16 and #64 drop off close to the Museum. If you are already in the downtown area, hop on the Red, Gold or Orange 'Dillo. Both drop off a few blocks from the Museum and downtown 'Dillos are always free to ride! Visit

Where do I park?
Thanks to the generosity of AMLI Downtown and Standard Parking Museum visitors can park in the AMLI garage for a reduced rate with Museum validation on a space available basis. Visitors to the Museum can also use metered street parking or pay to park in area lots. Handicapped guests may park at any available city meter - it is free when you have your handicapped tag.
What does it cost to come in?
Admission is $5.50 per person. Children under 12 months are free, children 12-23 months are $3.50.
How is the Museum funded?
The Austin Children's Museum is a private, nonprofit organization that receives funding from the City of Austin Art Commission, the Texas Commission on the Arts, and various foundations, businesses and individuals. The Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency that fosters innovation, leadership and a lifetime of learning, supports the Austin Children's Museum. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, the Museum gratefully accepts donations and sponsorships.

Can my 4 year old (or younger) child go down the slide? Why not?
No, based on National Indoor Playground Safety Standards, children must be 5 years old in order to go down the slide.
