July: Amy Chang
(at right)
|
Amy has been working as a Gallery Assistant every Friday afternoon since February of 2008. She joined us during the infancy stage of our new volunteer program – and is now a good example of it’s success! She is Taiwanese, a student at UT Austin majoring in biology and wants to become on elementary or secondary school teacher. ACM visitors have commented on Amy’s positive attitude and ability to engage the kids in Discovery Time. We really enjoy her presence on the Gallery Floor - thank you Amy!
"I love volunteering at ACM because it gave me the opportunity to work with children and learn how to interact with them. The Discovery Times really interested me because I could use the experiments to teach students on how sound works or what is a polymer. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to work at ACM. I really enjoy my time there with everyone." - Amy Chang, July's ACM Volunteer of the Month
“Amy’s dedication and positive spirit coupled with her eagerness to learn are just some of the characteristics that make the Museum a unique and fun environment for informal learning.” - Dylan Paschall, ACM Manager on Duty
