Description/Duties: Training Assistant Volunteers will co-host orientations and trainings for incoming volunteers and interns. Training Assistants will prepare training materials, lead activities and presentations, and ensure that new participants in our program begin their expirence out on the right foot. It’s very import to the Museum that each and every volunteer feels welcomed, productive and that they find a role at the Museum that best suits their skills and goals.
Training provided/ required:
• General Volunteer orientation
• Museum Education Training
• Serve full commitment outlined in Gallery Programs Facilitator or School Programs Tour Guide job descriptions
• Interview with Volunteer Coordinator and Education Manager
Commitment:
• At least 1shift per month for 6 months
Shifts:
First and Third Wednesday evenings of every month: 4:30-8:00pm
Occasional assistants are needed.

How to apply: All new volunteers will need to complete an application, background check and orientation. The application is available at the link below. Orientations are held every first Wednesday of the month from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Museum. If you plan to attend, please contact Jessica Wilson, Volunteer Coordinator at 512-472-2499 x210 or jwilson@austinkids.org so you can be added to the roster. Dinner is served for all orientations so RSVP is required.
