STEP 1: Fill out online application (coming February 2010).
  • You should plan to complete the application in one sitting, since questions and responses cannot be saved or accessed at a later time.
  • We recommend you prepare your information (especially the written answers section) in a word processing software and then copy/ paste them into the application. Once the application is submitted you are not able to access it to make edits.
  • Use the notes sections of the application to communicate special information or ask questions.  Using these sections, as opposed to sending a separate email with questions, will ensure quick responses.
  • The application asks for a “Application Code”. You may leave this field blank unless you have discussed it with a Museum staff person and have been told a code is necessary. (For example if you are applying for an internship, special project or completing volunteer hours under a special program)
  • You will receive a follow up email when your application has been received.  This email will include information about a criminal back ground check and the ACM Volunteer Code of Conduct Agreement.  There is a $5 processing fee for your background check it is due at orientation. 
STEP 2: Attend Orientation.
  • Orientation is offered once per semester for fall, spring and summer. Additional sessions are added at times of increased demand. You will receive and email confirmation when you submit your application. This email will include information about the next scheduled orientation.
STEP 3: Sign up for shifts using www.whentohelp.com.
