Description/Duties: Sorting and preparing supplies for Museum activities. The Museum receives large quantities of reusable materials from our community and needs assistance in sorting and preparing the supplies for use in our exhibits and programs.
Training provided/required:
• General Volunteer orientation and application process
• One on One Training with Curriculum Coordinator.
• Shadow 2 shifts with experienced supply sorter volunteer or Museum educator.
Commitment: Volunteers must commit to 5 hours per week for 3 months.
Shifts: Very flexible
Considerations: Supply Sorters must be able work independently. Attention to detail and good organization skills a must.
How to apply: All new volunteers will need to complete an application, background check and orientation. The application is available at the link below. Orientations are held every first Wednesday of the month from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at the Museum. If you plan to attend, please contact Jessica Wilson, Volunteer Coordinator at 512-472-2499 x210 or jwilson@austinkids.org so you can be added to the roster. Dinner is served for all orientations so RSVP is required.
