Intern will assist our exhibit team in the design, production and installation of new exhibits. In addition the intern will assist in the general maintenance and upkeep of existing exhibits.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist with the design effort for one or more new exhibits for the museum.
• Research subject material; help produce sketches and drawings; and research materials and methods.
• Assist in fabrication and installation of the exhibits.  Help build exhibit components in the museum’s shop.  Must be able to meet deadlines.
• Weekly &/or daily cleaning and maintenance of exhibits.  This includes once a week scheduled cleanings and repair and adjustments to exhibits as needed.

Skills:

• Ability to work as part of a design team on the conception and realization of new exhibits.
• Sketching and drafting.
• Fabrication: basic woodworking, painting and other finishing techniques.
• Minimum 3 days/week 21-24 hours.  

All internships require a minimum of 15 hours per week.
