2/5/2008 - Engineers Day at Austin Children's Museum

What do the Egyptian pyramids, I-35 and the Golden Gate Bridge have in common?

Austin, Texas (February 1, 2008) – What do the Egyptian pyramids, I-35 and the Golden Gate Bridge have in common? A civil engineer was involved in building them all! On Saturday, February 16, children and families will try their hand at civil engineering feats during Engineers Day at Austin Children’s Museum. The event is hosted by the Austin branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers in honor of National Engineers Week. From 10am-2pm children of all ages will construct bridges out of spaghetti, make rockets using balloons, craft flying whirlybirds out of paper and more. Events like these demonstrate the Museum’s commitment to offering fun, hands-on learning experiences in science, technology, engineering and math.

Engineers Day is Saturday, February 16, 10am-2pm
The first 400 kids will be admitted free thanks to the Austin Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Greater Austin Contractors and and Engineers Association..
