2/2/2007 - Engineer's Day
Engineer’s Day is Feb. 17th at Austin Children’s Museum
Austin, Texas (February 2, 2007) – What do pyramids, bridges and roads have in common? A civil engineer was involved in building them all! On Saturday, February 17th, 10am-2pm, the Austin Branch of the American Society of Civil Engineers will host Engineer’s Day at the Austin Children’s Museum.
Children will get an introduction to civil engineering through hands-on activities like building spaghetti bridges, paper helicopters, hoop gliders and more. This is the Austin Branch of ASCE’s sixth annual engineering event held in honor of National Engineering Week.
Thanks to Applied Materials, the first 180 children will get free on Engineer’s Day. Otherwise, Engineer’s Day activities are included with Museum admission. For more information visit www.austinkids.org or call 512-472-2499.
