Austin, Texas (February 2, 2009) - Austin Children's Museum is teaming
up with local partners to kickoff National Engineers Week (February
15-21), a week that cultivates and celebrates the engineering
profession. On Saturday, February 14 and Sunday, February 15, children
and families can come to the Museum and find an ongoing festival of
engineering activities for the youngest, emerging engineering minds.
Saturday, February 14, 10am-5pm
Engineering Saturday
The University of Texas Student Engineering Council will host eight
stations with fun, engineering activities all day long!
All activities are included with Museum admission on Saturday, February
14. $6.50 per person. $4.50 per child 12-23 months. Children under 12
months free.
Sunday, February 15, 12pm-5pm
Engineers Day
See what civil engineering is all about! Join the Austin Branch of the
American Society of Civil Engineers and the Greater Austin Contractors
and Engineers Association and try your hand at activities like:
* Spaghetti Bridges
* Hoop Gliders
* Balloon Cars
* Paper Helicopters
* Newspaper Towers and more.
Other Engineers Day sponsors include: Alliance Transportation Group;
Baer Engineering and Environmental Consulting, Inc.; Binkley & Barfield;

On Sunday, February 15, the first 400 kids receive FREE admission,
thanks to ASCE & ACEA. Museum admission is also FREE from 4-5pm on
Sundays.
